Sunday at the Rhododendron Garden

There's a beautiful garden here in Portland that the Count and I like to go to to take family pictures. Even though it was sprinkly all day yesterday, we ventured out and got some sweet pictures. The kids got to feed the ducks and squirrels, and the Count and I had fun with our cameras. You'll notice that you don't see any pictures of the two of us together (or any pictures of him at all for that matter, since blogger has decided to stop cooperating). We had to pass our cameras back and forth to get pictures of each other. The Count did have a tripod which he set up to get delayed pictures of the five of us together. But his camera isn't digital, so we'll have to wait for the film to be processed. My camera, however, is, so I get to share pictures with you immediately. Enjoy!Don't cry, Sproutie!Ahh, that's better.Think I'll play with Sissy's hair.Wonder what's over there? My three sweet babies.

In knitting news, somehow I'm still alive and kicking in the Sock Wars. I see that the person assigned to eliminate me has been taken out, and it's unclear whether her assassin has received unfinished socks to knit for me. Until I receive said socks in the mail, however, I remain alive. My target's unfinished socks for her target should be on their way to me from Texas. Until I receive those, I've been looking over a few patterns for my brother-in-law's socks, and have picked up my 2nd oldest UFO, which is the Winter Branches sweater that I hope to have done for my sister in time for Christmas. I was farther along on the first piece (the back) than I remembered, which was a nice surprise. I'll post progress pictures when blogger decides it wants to be my friend again.

My love to all.

What garden did you go to?

The official name of the park is Crystal Springs Rhododendron Garden, and the link to the website address is: http://www.portlandonline.com/parks/finder/index.cfm?ShowResults=yes&SearchText=crystal+springs+rhododendron+garden

Sorry I can't make a hyperlink for it, but hopefully you can cut and paste the address to your browser.

Look at your sweet family! I love the pictures. I have NEVER been to this garden! I definitely want to go now. Maybe it will be nice this weekend? *hopes*
And I can't get over the fact that you're the only person I know who's still alive in Sock Wars! That is sooooo cool! :)

Really cute pictures! I love the gardens, too. *sigh* Adding one more reason we should move out west to my list. :)

Congrats on the sock wars, too. If the same good fortune follows you around like it did with your state fair entries, you'll win the thing!

lovely family pics.
and I'm impressed - the whole sock wars thing is confusing as all get out - I don't know how you keep track of who's alive and dead - but I'm impressed you are still alive.

Hi Katrina,
Just checking in with you...
Your family is lovely! My oldest daughter is 9 years old also. What a great age, I am really enjoying it. Good luck on the Sock Wars (not sure I understand what's going on though!).

Wow! What an adorable family! Those pictures show how teensy weensy you are. As a huge, tall, weighty (even when I'm skinny) Amazon I have, of course, always dreamed of being a little pixie-sized woman. I dream of Prince Charming whisking me off my feet and carrying me into the sunset. It'll never happen to ME in this life. The poor guy would get a hernia. We always want what we can't have. sigh.
