Congratulations to Stephanie

Congratulations to Stephanie for winning the movie line contest from Terms of Endearment. The line was: "You parked in my driveway you're breakin the laaaaw!" and it was said by Jack Nicholson's character. I love that movie.

But I don't love all movies. Who would? Remember Sleepless in Seattle? Some of you may have liked that movie, but not I. I thought Meg Ryan's character was more like a creepy stalker than innocent potential love interest for Tom Hanks. I mean, remember the scene where she pretty much hunts Tom and his son down and stands staring at them from across the street? What was that all about? Apparently, I'm not the only one who felt this way. I ran across this gem on a website where they tweaked the movie trailer to make it sound more like what I thought the movie was like. Go take a look; it's amusing. I can't make the hyperlink work, so I will spell it out here: http://www.tomatopatch.com/films/sleepless.htm Go watch it and let me know what you think.

The next movie line up for consideration is:

"I almost had to wait."

Good luck to all.

Now I understand why I can't name most of your movie lines. We CLEARLY have different taste in movies. You're lucky you are such a sweet, nice person otherwise because normally I would never associate with someone who doesn't like "Sleepless in Seattle". ;-) What a sacrilege that movie trailer is! GASP! Next thing you're going to be saying that Sandra Bullock was stalking the guy in "While You Were Sleeping". Excuse me, I have to go fan myself and regain my composure.

HAHAHAHAHAH! Ok that is one of the funniest things I have ever seen. Med Ryan... I don't know. I liked her in Inner Space, but that's pretty much it. Unka Shaina I can't believe you didn't bring up her oh so talented performance in Kate and Leopold! hahaha

hahaha Tam, after reading your comments I went back to your profile page and saw that you had listed Sleepless in Seattle as one of your favorite movies. Oops! To each his own, I suppose. One thing I did enjoy about that movie was Rita Wilson (Tom's Hanks' wife)'s performance. I thought she was adorable. Meg, on the other hand, well, I digress. But I promise I won't riff on While You Were Sleeping. Interesting: both movies have the word "sleep" in their title, and both movies have Bill Pullman in them. Sorry to give you a spontaneous case of the vapors. You know I love you!

Ashley (little Aurora's mommy), so good to see you here! I agree, the tweaked movie trailers are funny. I can think of a lot of movies that would be hilarious if given this treatment.

And Stephny, was Meg IN Kate and Leopold??? My brain receptors only registered Mr. Hugh Jackman and blocked everything else out. "Sweet creamery buttah..." *sigh*

Okay now, you had to mention Kate and Leopold. That's really fighting dirty. Even "I" (insipid Meg Ryan fan from way back) have to grudgingly admit that K&L was a sucky movie. I'm embarrassed on her behalf for making that movie. Not ALL of her romantic comedies are good but that IS all she can do so she needs to stick with it. All of her attempts to do something "serious" and "non-romantic-comedy" were embarrassing and painful to watch. She IS the reigning queen of the sappy romance genre, though. When she's "on", she's "ON". I could just put "Sleepless in Seattle", "When Harry Met Sally", "You've Got Mail", "Prelude to a Kiss" (even though I HATE Alec Baldwin) and "Anastasia" (for whom she does the voice)on repeat in my DVD player indefinitely. "Joe vs. Volcano" could be in that mix too. IQ and DOA are watchable ONCE. We won't discuss anything else she's done. ahem. :-)

Except to mention that I used to watch her play Betsy on As the World Turns and thought she was adorable. But right or wrong, an actor's attitude really colors their performance for me.

That is SO funny. And I like that movie. However, I have always found Meg's character to be so ditsy and insipid...I'm always a little sad when they end up together in the end.

Ha,ha,ha! That was awesome! :) You know, I bet even Meg would find that funny.
